PROJECTS    RENOVATION / HISTORICAL PRESERVATION    JOSEPH SMITH MEMORIAL BUILDING RENOVATION
Joseph Smith Memorial Building Renovation
Salt Lake City, UT
Project Description
Renovations of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, originally the Hotel Utah, are focused on upgrading the building's electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, as well as enhancing guest experiences. This included a meticulous preservation and restoration to historic elements of the foyer, mezzanine, event and dining spaces, and additional user spaces throughout the building. Okland addressed structural deficiencies by testing and balancing floor by floor, to ensure the building meets current seismic design codes.
