Project Description

This project consisted of the remodel of, and addition to, the existing Dairy Products Laboratory (DPL) located on the Brigham Young University’s Provo campus. This enable it to become the new central production kitchen, providing food service to the entire campus as well as the Missionary Training Center and other clients.

The work specifically includes demolition of portions of the existing building, construction of new masonry structure, re-roof, interior remodel of all existing spaces and finishes, new exterior masonry veneer, new storefront glazing system, new fire sprinkling systems, and full mechanical and electrical upgrades. The remodeled facility houses a vegetable processing room, a bakery, garde manger, state-of-the-art cook chill equipment, kitchen equipment, diary production equipment, ammonia refrigeration equipment, and an ice cream production plant. The facility gives student of the campus products that are more nutritious.
